Finding Our Roots at a Glance
Finding Our Roots is a family owned non-profit geared towards self-sufficiency and agricultural awareness in the city of Detroit. Our family began the voyage of homesteading in 2015 with a small solar array for power and a wood cook stove for heat. Now in 2018 we've become community partners with the Land bank and have purchased a vacant block to cultivate and build our home. Our geodesic biodome home will be made mostly of natural building materials and eco friendly recycled trash. Our goal is to continue exploring more off grid sustainable paths and eventually encourage our neighbors to do so as well.

Food Donation Drop-Off
At Finding Our Roots, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Food Donation Drop-Off is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Organic Veggie and egg distribution
Residents are encouraged to come by and pick up farm fresh veggies from our garden and Organic eggs from our free range chickens.
